From what I’ve read, the general feeling isn’t great about it. Heres a link from Analyst Forum http://www.analystforum.com/forum/s/cfa-forums/cfa-general-discussion/91313698

I know a few committee members in some local CFA societies. Their feedback on this was that the Claritas is CFA Institute’s outreach to support staff-like functions (e.g. such as in an asset management firm) so that they better understand the responsibilities of the firms they support.

Some key points I got from our conversations:

      – One exam only, no multiple levels
      – Level of difficulty is much more reduced compared to CFA Level I
      – Little or no calculation questions, mostly conceptual

If you’re looking for a proper career in finance-related roles I doubt the Claritas is going to help, but if you’re a support function (i.e. legal, IT, HR, etc) in a finance-related industry this might be interesting for you.

@christine would you be able to find out more? I just wonder if people will start taking this Claritas stuff and put on their CV that ‘they’ve passed the CFA exams’. That would be really annoying.

I would actively prosecute these people if that happens.

Claritas sounds weird too. Doesn’t seem to be in the same vein as “Chartered Financial Analyst”.
