By Sophie CFA exams are complicated enough, but it doesn’t help that there is an endless array of study material formats to pick from. You all know that sticking to your study plan and doing tons of…

Started with CFAI, but continued with Schweser with punctual references to the curriculum, especially for the practice questions. I will use the curriculum at the end for Ethics, however.
I would also add that I am a candidate member of the CFA Society in UK. They organize conferences, but also CFA “surgeries” for candidates for each section. Really interesting to consider it for a little update on your past covered materials, without having to pay for the full evening classes package. -

@fabian – used only Schweser for LI and LII, passed both first time (looking at the score dispersion, LII was close but I would attribute that to only three months of study due to work contraints and doing the December-June back-to-back, rather than materials).
Tried Schweser-only for LIII, failed but got scoreband ten – on another day I may well have passed all three without ever picking up an official book. Certainly a couple of people in my office have done so.
I am using CFA books exclusively this time round for LIII. Will be interesting to see if it gets me over the line… or indeed if my performance suffers from this change in approach. -

I used Elan for Level 1, but trying out Schweser instead for L2. Heard a lot of issues with getting Elan delivered on time, and I wanted my books fast to try and start as early as possible.

I use the combination of Schweser notes for first run through of each topic, videos if something isn’t sinking in, CFAI text summary and questions for review. I bought the Q-bank and secret sauce for L2 with the thought of using them in between practice exams during the last month…we’ll see how that goes! Hoping to pick up a couple refresher in class sessions in the last month also, I find the class sessions a great way to hammer home concepts right before the test.

My method was three cycles
1. Browse through material parallel writing running notes – 2 months
2. Browse through my notes and highlight what i thought was important – 3 weeks
3. Write pratice exam – score – analyze – update my notes – up till exam
4. Results – Cleared on first attempt
