Head hurts and I feel like throwing up. The weekend is bust as far as studying is concerned.
Although this is hopefully unlikely to still be the case by exam day, will we be able to get a deferral if sick?
I could only find this official form which allows L1 candidates to withdraw from the exam, but you don’t get a refund or anything.
Anyone have any experience on this?

I don’t think you can get a deferral for illness unless you needed surgery or some life-threatening stuff. Things like death of a family member (and presumably your own) are also possible.
I think it’s considered on a case-by-case basis though.

You can get a deferral only in circumstances below, and even then it’s not guaranteed:
A life threatening or very serious illness to me or a member of my immediate familyCurrent pregnancy (self)A death in the immediate familyMandatory military service on day of the exam
You’ll need to submit a written request for a deferral to [email protected] and include your full name and CFA Institute ID number.

Also, what is the point of the withdrawal option if you don’t get a refund? Isn’t just not showing up the same, but easier? 🤷

You can get a full refund if you’re registered to take it in HK…
