As part of the package I have I also have video lectures. I haven’t really used it yet, but I’m just wondering for some chapters whether it makes more sense to just watch the video lectures and take notes, as a more time-effective approach.
Has anyone experimented with this? Any advice appreciated.

I’m using video lectures at the moment to supplement notes – I find them super useful to be honest. Would definitely recommend.

I definitely would not advise directly replacing study notes with video lectures.
I tried something similar for my Level II – I started with video lectures with the aim of completing my first round on the syllabus real quick. I ended up getting a fairly patchy first run on the syllabus, and ended up doubling back and restarting using study notes.
Use video lectures as a reinforcing material, but I’d advise against using it as your primary source.

They cover what they need to – I’m not sure if they made it any shorter it would be too useful.

Videos are useful but I only some chapters because video lectures are so long and sleep inducing.

I also tend to spaz out and miss a whole chunk of the lecture. Then I have to go back for a bit, and therefore make the lecture even longer!

I hear that Elan videos cover over 90% of the lecture notes, but they are LONG, with some over 3 hours.
