          Hi Jyoti,

I believe you are confused about a particular vertical to get in Investment Banking. For a fresh Chartered Accountant wanting to make fortune in IB; the best bet is getting in a Valuation profile. It is a starting point of a much glamorous Investment Banking industry.

Being in Gurgaon, India you can easily get such profiles with Big 4 and lot other boutique IB firms( if you can’t crack big 4) who does post deal work like purchase price allocation, litigation valuations, due diligence, mainly post M&A activity. Simultaneously pursuing CFA will prepare you as a complete package as you will have CA, CFA and couple of years of experience at associate level with IB. Then later on you may crack the deal side of Investment Banking.

          Hope this helps you. Thanks.
          Best,
          Akshit, CFA

I am chartered accountant and working in a one of the SENSEX 30 Company. I am more interest towards Finance, Portfolio Management & I-Banking. Shall I go for CFA? After passing the same is there in chance to get opportunities Outside India like Australia or Singapore(not USA)?

Are you looking for a career in I-banking or I-research/portfolio management? CFA may not help as much with I-Banking, since its mostly deal making/marketing/business development. MBA might be a better option for you.
