FRM July 2021 Exams: Some Locations Postponed

Want to pass the CFA exam? Start preparing the right way.

GARP has announced the postponement of some FRM July 2021 exams in these locations:

  • Malaysia
  • Russia
  • Thailand
  • Indonesia
  • Oman

This is due to the increase in COVID cases and local regulations in these countries.

There is currently no news of postponement in India yet, nor an option provided for deferral here. GARP stated that it is “monitoring the situation closely for the July FRM Part I Exam” in India.

All July 2021 FRM candidates will automatically be registered for the November exams, which will be based on the same curriculum.

FRM July 2021 Exams Postponed: FAQ

We will keep this page updated as we learn more, but meanwhile, here are some FAQs on next steps:

How do I reschedule my postponed FRM exam?

Affected candidates should wait for their dashboard in GARP’s portal to be updated to reflect this deferral to November, before logging in and scheduling their exam appointment.

Exam appointments are on a first-come, first-serve basis. Deadline to reschedule an appointment is 20 October 2021.

For more details on GARP’s general rescheduling and deferral policies for FRM exams, please check out our FRM exam dates FAQs.

Will my FRM exam location be cancelled?

GARP have not ruled out more cancellations and are actively monitoring the local pandemic situation globally.

Just like the previous exam cycle, we will keep this page updated as we learn more.

Which FRM exam window will I be deferred to?

Affected FRM July 2021 Part 1 candidates will be deferred to the November 2021 exam window.

Can I get a refund instead?

As far as we understand, GARP currently does not provide refunds for either the exam enrollment or registration fee as a normal policy.

Well, I have some free time now. Any recommendations on courses to take while I wait for my FRM exams?

We have a list of alternative qualifications that FRM candidates might be interested in, which includes financial modelling, programming, data science, languages and well-being courses.

Alternatively – you could also take a break. Spend some time with your family and friends, practice some yoga, and focus on yourself. And stay safe out there!
